From the recording This is How I Sing
In late 2010 Mark attended a writing class called "Letters From Dad". It's a ministry that teaches Fathers how to leave a written legacy to their children in the form of well-written letters. After about 10 minutes of the first class, Mark began writing this song after being moved by the opening video that was shown. He doesn't remember anything else that was said during that class, and finished most of the song in the parking lot before heading home.
